Celebrate Dr. King's legacy and leaders who have followed his dedication to unity and justice in our community.
Each year, the Museum honors the legacy of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with messages of unity, justice and peace. This year his message was especially important as communities rose together to speak against injustice.
Join us as we honor Dr. King's legacy and recognize this year's Caryakid Award winner, the Honorable State Representative Garnet Coleman, who has supported the Museum's annual MLK Day celebration and is an advocate for families' access to educational programs in our community. Previous honorees, including Rev. William "Bill" Lawson, Attorney Gene Locke, Paula Harris, Sonceria "Sonny" Jiles, and Sylvia Brooks, share their congratulations during our first ever virtual MLK Day celebration.
Watch the premier on our Facebook page at 2 pm on Monday, January 18.
