About the Program

Children’s Museum Houston wants to get all children hooked on books! Our Read Strong All Year Long initiative aims to engage kids in interactive literacy-related activities throughout the museum.

From our Parent Resource Library, to films in the auditorium, to specifically themed events, the wonder of literature is celebrated throughout your visit, onsite and virtually. Activities include:

  • Monthly reading lists, provided in English and Spanish, featuring titles of new and classic works
  • Virtual Storytimes
  • Readers’ Theatre
  • Interactive reading
  • Free books
  • Themed celebrations & events
  • Houston Public Library Summer and Winter Reading Programs

Check Out a Book

As a part of the Houston Public Library (HPL) system, Parent Resource Library visitors can use their free HPL card to check out books as well as access numerous databases and information resources.
