Did you know that Houston doesn't just have the largest rodeo in the United States, it also has one of the largest art competitions? More than 200,000 students participate each year. The Museum is proud to celebrate these young artists with an exhibition of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art every spring.
On March 7th, the Museum highlighted this exhibition and celebrated the first day of Spring Break with its Giddy Up! event. Children learned lasso skills from a trick roper, met farm animals at a petting zoo, and made animal stuffies at workshops throughout the day.
If you couldn’t make it to the Giddy Up event, there’s still time to see the student art exhibit, which will be up through April 26th. And, aspiring veterinarians can learn about animal health year-round in the Museum’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Vet Clinic.
