45,500 Make Spring Break Memories

April 27, 2025

Sponsored by ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil

Every day was a new adventure for 45,500 visitors during the Museum's two-week Spring Break celebration. Programming changed daily, with Pi(e) fights, explosions, confetti parties, and even Broadway sing-a-longs. Museum educators met many visitors who came back across several days to enjoy each new set of activities, and families dressed up to match the themes for the perfect character photo-ops.

Which day was the best? If you measure by attendance, the biggest day was March 13th, which welcomed 8,000 visitors to appearances by Bluey and a Free Family Night underwritten by ExxonMobil. In terms of Houston traditions, CMH's Pi Day celebration on March 14th featured one of the longest-running annual Pi(e) fights in the nation, sponsored by ConocoPhillips. The event with the most heartfelt moments may have been the Clifford day on March 11th. Pictured below, a mother and daughter meet Clifford, and they have even brought with them the Clifford stuffed animal from when mom was little.

CMH’s Spring Break brought the fun—but it also brought the learning.  STEM activities, including extreme science shows and slimy science experiments, were a highlight of the festivities. Visitors also enjoyed a sneak peek of the Museum’s new Faithful Friends exhibit, which will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, April 6th.
