Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15-October 15. This special event acknowledges the history, culture, and contributions of Americans whose ancestry can be traced to Latin American countries including Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. It is also a celebration of the independence of many Latin American countries such as: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, Chile and Mexico.
At Children's Museum Houston, Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to learn about the achievements of Hispanic people, as well as celebrate their culture through activities, and live performances!

Express Children's Theatre Presents - An Art Class with Frida Kahlo: Thanks to a time-bending twist, iconic artis Frida Kahlo travels from 1940s Mexico to lead a fun, all-ages art class—presented by Express Children's theatre where families can create self-portraits and learn about her life and legacy!
Flamenco Ole!: In this performance, the artists will demonstrate the three most important elements of Flamenco: song, guitar, and dance. Participants will learn about the origins of Flamenco, its rhythms and how feelings are expressed in this beautiful art.
