Time to get inventive! The Museum’s newest exhibit celebrates the complicated, quirky cartoons of Rube Goldberg. Throughout the exhibit visitors operate complex machines based on Goldberg’s designs—with surprising and silly results. Rube Goldberg™: The World of Hilarious Invention! was created by Children's Museum of Pittsburgh in partnership with the heirs of Rube Goldberg. It is being presented at CMH with local support provided by Oxy and The William Stamps Farish Fund. Filled with creativity and discovery, the exhibit appeals to a broad range of ages and interests. Children create their own contraptions at design stations, draw cartoons at drafting tables, and pose for photos at a giant-sized version of Goldberg’s commemorative U.S. postage stamp.
"We are excited to bring this exhibit to Houston," shared Keith Ostfeld, CMH Vice President of Exhibit and Program Innovation, "It provides so many creative ways for children to build their problem-solving and engineering skills."
In September, the exhibit's grand opening ceremony welcomed families, Museum patrons, and Oxy volunteers. Goldberg will be exhibited until January 10th, welcoming more than 150,000 visitors during its three-month run.
