A Spring Break of Smiles, Science, and Surprises

April 7, 2026

Sponsored by ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, and Shriners Children's Texas

CMH brought the fun—and the learning—to 47,600+ Spring Break visitors. Armed with ponchos and umbrellas, Museum educators presented their most extreme science programming, including exploding foam and one of the longest-running pie fights in the nation for Pi(e) Day on 3.14.

These photos show just one of 16 themed days in which families made Spring Break memories. Some visitors returned day after day, often dressing up to match themes that ranged from video games to K-Pop. There were even families who visited 7+ days across Spring Break, making the most of their family time and their Museum memberships.

One of the best things about Spring Break was that it was for everyone. The Museum welcomed 6,000 visitors on Spring Break Free Family Nights, which were underwritten by ExxonMobil and Shriners Children's Texas. Special thanks to ConocoPhillips for sponsoring the Museum's annual Pi Day Pie Fight, which has been a Spring Break tradition for more than two decades.
