About the Event

Celebrate International Literacy Day on September 8th, because there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book! Join us for an exciting week filled with activities directly related to popular children’s books that encourages reading, imaginative play and so much more.

WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE MUSEUM:

Dot Day- Discover the power and potential of creativity as you create a work of art to celebrate International Dot Day, inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot.

Dancing Giraffe Puppet: Can giraffes dance? Yes they can! Make your own dancing giraffe after reading the book Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae.

All Day @ Junktion

Storytime: Lay the foundation for future reading skills by listening to stories and poems that increase children’s memories and vocabulary as well as improving their listening and speaking skills.
