Get ready to see science in a whole new light! Join Rice University for hands-on activities that let young scientists and their families explore colorful light patterns, discover the power of magnets, and see some amazing science in action. With fun, interactive experiments led by Rice graduate students, kids can explore, ask questions, and discover how light, magnetism, and quantum science shape the world around us!

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Intro to Spectroscopy: Discover what light is made of! Use diffraction viewers to explore the colorful patterns hidden in different light sources and see how scientists use light to identify materials.

When: From 5-8 pm in New Kids' Hall

Interacting with Magnets: Explore the power of magnetic attraction! Guide a magnetic figure through a maze and discover how an invisible force can be used to create motion and do work.
