Gear up for an extraordinary and exclusive experience at our Sensory Friendly Day! This is not just a museum visit; it's a fantastic escape from the sensory overload, specially designed for children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, and various learning differences, along with their families. Get ready for a private event that transforms the museum into a haven of comfort and enjoyment! This exclusive event include the following modifications:

• Light and sound reduction (dimmed lights, limited extra sounds and no distracting motions)
• Extra visual signage for safety (to help visitors determine things not to climb on and where to stop and wait for an adult before continuing)
• Less crowded environment free from unnecessary distractions
• Ear defenders and sunglasses available on loan
• Designated quiet rooms
• Families are allowed to bring in outside food and drinks (Fresh Café will be closed)

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Faithful Paws: Experience unconditional love and furry comfort with trained therapy pets.

Event Time: 10 am to noon in Tree Top

Rising Stars ABA: Learn more about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as you interact with sensory activities.

Event Time: 10 am to 1 pm in New Kids' Hall

Valentine Story Time: Join us for a sweet Valentine reading experience.

Event Times: 11 and 11:30 am and noon in Parent Resource Library.

ONSITE RESOURCES: (From 10 am to 1 pm)

• The DIAG: Visit with this special education consulting company which provides guidance and resources for families with children who have special needs.
• Workforce Solution: Receive resources to raise awareness about vocational rehabilitation services for children with disabilities from ages 14 to 22.
• Cool Down Room: When things get too exciting, relax in the Celebrations Cool Down room.
