Children’s Museum Houston will be magically transformed into a colorful, beautiful and bountiful Land of the Dead, bursting with incredible offerings of “sugar skulls” and marigolds in celebration of El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).  El Día de los Muertos is a celebration of life!  It’s a time when families keep the memory of loved ones alive by remembering their essence in a beautifully decorated “ofrenda.”  This offering, replete of bread, fruit, and flowers, is believed to be enjoyed by the departed as they pay a holiday visit home!

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Giggles & Stories: Enjoy an interactive, bilingual storytime with engaging stories, songs, and playful activities for young learners and their families.

When: At 10 am in Gallery of Wonder

Dia de los Muertos Workshops: Learn about Día de los Muertos traditions as create your own mini ofrenda to honor and remember loved ones.

Spanish/English Storytimes: Enjoy engaging storytimes shared in two languages that celebrate global cultures and shared storytelling traditions.

Intempo Dance: Celebrate Mexican culture with storytelling and dance as these performers bring the vibrant spirit and meaningful traditions of Día de los Muertos to life on stage!
