SENSORY FRIENDLY DAY

Children's Museum Houston to host exclusive Sensory Friendly event featuring Houston Ballet, therapy dogs and more!

Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 beginning at 10 a.m.

Children’s Museum Houston invites you to an exclusive event for children with Autism.  Sensory Friendly Day is an opportunity for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to explore the Museum.  Doors will be closed to the public.  There will be no music and sound-reducing headphones will be available.  Outside food and drinks will be allowed (Fresh Café will be closed).  

 

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Houston Ballet: Get your body creatively moving with the Ballet’s “Adapted Dance.”

Event Time:  From 10 a.m. to noon in PowerPlay Alcove.

 

H-E Buddy:  Get some buddy bucks from your favorite neighborhood market!

Event Time:  From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kidtropolis’ H-E-B.

 

Santa Claus:  Bring your wish list and snap a selfie with Santa!

Event Time:  From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kids’ Hall Alcove.

 

Story Time: Tis’ the season! Join us for a cozy holiday tale.  

Event Time: At 11a.m., 11:30 a.m. and noon in Parent Resource Library.

 

Faithful Paws:  Experience unconditional love and furry comfort with trained therapy pets.

Event Time:  From 1 to 3 p.m. in Kids’ Hall.

 

Sensory Resources:  Visit with Howdy Homemade about special needs employment opportunities.

Event Time:  From 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Kids’ Hall.
