Children's Museum Houston's Kidpendence Day celebration returns July 3!

Fireworks and concerts and celebrations oh my! Finding the perfect way for you and your family to celebrate the 4th of July has never been easier. Thanks to multiple fireworks shows and events happening around Houston, you’ll be able to enjoy the 4th of July safely! Curious what’s happening? Check out these events:

  1. July 3rd: Kidpendence Day at Children's Museum Houston - Our annual event returns with a visit from Captain America, science experiments and patriotic DIYs! The best part is, this is happening July 3, 2021 so if you want to celebrate two days with your family or skip the the 4th of July traffic, this is your way to go!
  2. Freedom Over Texas - The City of Houston's official 4th of July celebration is back! Want to watch a good quality fireworks show from the comfort of your own home? ABC13 will be broadcasting the Shell Freedom Over Texas fireworks show live! What’s great about this event is you can attend virtually or in person. The event will be going on from 7 to 10 pm at 500 Allen Parkway.
  3. Picnic at McGovern Centennial Gardens - Don’t want to do a traditional 4th of July? Head over to McGovern Centennial Gardens to enjoy a peaceful afternoon sitting in the shade or taking a stroll through the vegetable garden placed within. Visiting on Saturday? Take a short walk to the Children’s Museum and enjoy a day of play and learning in the AC!
