2026 Randy Allen Spring Golf Classic

June 4, 2026

Children’s Museum Houston drives home more than $213,000 for Houston’s children

HOUSTON (June 4, 2026)  — It was a hole-in-one kind of day as Children's Museum Houston welcomed supporters, sponsors, and golf lovers to the 2026 Randy Allen Spring Golf Classic at Westwood Golf Club on April 27, 2026.  Nearly 120 players teed up for a powerful cause and helped raise an incredible $213,330 in support of the Museum’s no cost and reduced-admission programs.

Chaired by Charles “Chas” Masterson and Perry Ruthven, the annual fundraiser mixed friendly competition with meaningful impact, all while helping ensure more children and families can access the wonder, creativity, and hands-on learning experiences which make Children's Museum Houston a community treasure.  With 29 teams taking their best shot on the fairways, this long-running tournament proved once again when Houston rallies behind its children, everybody wins.

“Year after year, the Randy Allen Spring Golf Classic proves that when our community comes together, incredible things happen for children,” said Children’s Museum Houston CEO Rayanne Darensbourg.  “Every drive down the fairway and every putt sunk helps open doors to hands-on learning experiences which inspire curiosity, confidence, and possibility. Thanks to the generosity of our players, sponsors, and supporters, we are helping ensure every child has the opportunity to discover their potential both on and off the course.”

Since 1996, the Randy Allen Spring Golf Classic has been a driving force behind the Museum’s mission of improving the trajectories of all children through innovative, child-centered learning. This year’s Florida scramble-format tournament featured lunch, on-course refreshments, swag bags, contests, and plenty of opportunities to network, connect, and swing big for Houston’s kids.

While a few golfers may have found themselves in the rough from time to time, the true victory of the day was crystal clear: helping children across Greater Houston gain access to transformative educational experiences regardless of financial barriers.
