Santa's elves will have nothing on you during this blast of a WonderWeek! Now's your chance to unleash your full creativity and build a toy of your very own. The Museum will provide upcycled materials you can use for your very own creation. Experience toy-making and much more during this festive holiday WonderWeek!

Build-A-Toy

Use recycled materials to build the toy of your dreams!

Location: Art Academy

Make a Snowflake!/Animals in Winter

Table 1: Learn about the uniqueness of snowflakes by makingyour own melt-free snowflake!

Table 2: Discover how animals survive through winter by sorting the animal cards and checking to see if you were right!

Location: EcoStation

Un Domino Addition Game

Location: Math Cart

Build a Molecule/Chemistry Makes Scents!

Activity 1:

Compare smells between caraway oil, Spearmint oil, and coffee. Spearmint and caraway can smell extremely similar and this is because of the types of molecules. Which leads to the second activity.

Activity 2:

Build mirror molecules like Spearmint and Caraway using Happy Molecules!

Location: Science Station

Picnic Science will temporarily takeover the Power Science Lab space during Free Family Night! Don’t worry, we’re still doing science, but the activities will be different from the planned Power Science Lab programming. Sign up at Power Science Lab for these special workshops!

Oobleck & Brain Hat

Learn about Non-Newtonian fluids and how they change their state of matter under different amounts of pressure by making some Oobleck. You will also learn about how the human body contains some non-Newtonian fluids, such as synovial fluid, that coats the knee and elbow joints.

 

Learn about the different parts of our brain by crafting your very own brain hat.

Toy Workshop

Use given materials to build classic and modern toys, like the ball and cup game, Jacob’s ladder, and fidget spinners.
