Rising K – 5th grade
There is never a dull moment at this free virtual summer camp that will keep brains active while campers experience joys of summer camp!
Camp Adventure! is an exciting and unique experience for all campers to remember for years to come. This year, Children's Museum Houston has turned it into a hands-on virtual experience for you to do at home. We will not be hosting in-person camp this summer but that doesn't mean you have to miss out!
We are providing campers and their families with five fun filled days of activities. Each day will have a different theme and a book, storytime, science experiment, song, game and a more fun activities that are tied to the theme. Each camper will receive a kit with all materials needed to do all the activities.
In addition to the hands-on activities you can do at home, we provide virtual programming such as videos to engage with the activities and other campers.
Camp Adventure! is open to rising Kindergarten - 5th grade students for the 2020-2021 school year that are zoned to a Title 1 school in the Houston Independent School District or are enrolled and attending a school in Houston Independent School District.
Camp Adventure! kits will be distributed to two sites: Atherton Elementary School (2011 Solo St.) and Foster Elementary School (3919 Ward St.).
Camp will kick off on Monday, July 13 with virtual opportunities for campers through July 17, but all activities can be done at home at your own pace.
Produced and directed by Children's Museum Houston for the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and the Houston Independent School District, Camp Adventure! provides a full slate of our literacy and STEAM programming, with additional programming related to music, theater, nutrition and literacy provided by Houston Symphony, Astros Youth Sports Academy and Houston Food Bank.
