HOUSTON (Nov. 11, 2025)– It’s that magical time between Halloween chills and holiday thrills and both Children’s Museum Houston and sister location, Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, are serving up a cornucopia of family fun you’ll be thankful for! Get ready to gobble ‘til you wobble during The Great Gobbler Fest, a weeklong celebration stuffed with laughter, creativity, and a whole lot of turkey-themed cheer.

Special Events:  

Monday, Nov. 24 –Turkey Jam:  Shake your tail feathers with DJ games, make paper-bag turkey costumes, and enjoy bilingual story times that’ll get your giggles gobbling!

Tuesday, Nov. 25 –Turkey Pardon and Parade:  Meet a real live turkey before it gets officially pardoned by our Kids’ Committee! Don’t miss the parade of pint-sized “turkeys,” Zumbini family fun, and hands-on crafts from gobbler hats to wobbling paper toys.

Wednesday, Nov. 26 –Pumpkin Chunkin’ (Sponsored by Jason & Ginny Endecott):  It’s a smash hit! Watch pumpkins drop and burst in a crowd-favorite science spectacle, build catapults, whip up mini pumpkin puddingpies, and craft colorful pumpkin art.

Thursday, Nov. 27 – Thanksgiving Day: (Museum closed)

Friday, Nov. 28 –Changing of the Seasons and Elfie Selfies with Santa:  Santa makes his grand entrance as the Great Gobbler officially passes the holiday baton with a spirited performance by The Ensemble Theatre.

Saturday, Nov. 29 –Wickedly Good Appearances and Sing-Along: Defy gravity with Glinda and Elphaba-inspired appearances! Enjoy sing-alongs, photo ops, and “wicked cool” crafts and slime experiments in celebration of the “Wicked: For Good” movie release.

Sunday, Nov. 30 –Seasons of Sharing and Caring:  Close out the week by giving back!  Create no-sew blankets, lunch bags, bookmarks, and cards for those in need. Because gratitude is best shared!

Wednesday, Nov. 26 –Turkey Jam:  Line dance with a DJ, decorate festive pumpkins, and make your own paper-bag turkey costumes!

Thursday, Nov. 27 – Thanksgiving Day: (Discovery Center closed)

Friday, Nov. 28 –Changing of the Seasons and Elfie Selfies with Santa:  Santa stops by for meet-and-greets and story time with his elf! Craft your own ornaments to take home and make your holidays shine bright.

Saturday, Nov. 29 –Gonna Be Golden K-Pop Demon Hunters Bare Your Seoul Sing-Along (Sponsored by Caldwell & Steinbring Dentistry for Children):  Shine bright during this “K-Pop Demon Hunters”-inspired celebration! Sing along to favorite hits, meet cosplay heroes for photos, craft your own magpie or tiger stuffie, and make shimmering Golden Slime in a dazzling STEM activity.

Sunday, Nov. 30 – Gobble Up the Fun!:  Craft your own hilarious turkey leg hat then get creative with hands-on turkey crafts. Roll the dice for a feather-filled good time with our Turkey Roll game and discover tradition and artistry as you make your own corn husk doll.
