At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, Children's Museum Houston will officially launch its “Kick It Off, Houston!” celebration with a spirited global soccer-inspired challenge between Children's Museum Houston CEO Rayanne Darensbourg and Laura Dandridge, Corporate Affairs Advisor for Chevron, each leading a team in a one-minute soccer shootout to crown the Museum's own world soccer champion.
The ceremonial challenge kicks off the Museum's “Global Goal Soccer Party,” an immersive celebration inspired by the international cultures represented during the futbol excitement taking over Houston this summer. Throughout the day, families will experience live performances, international storytelling, hands-on maker activities, soccer skill stations, STEM challenges and creative experiences celebrating the diversity which makes Houston one of the world's most international cities.
