December 17, 2025

HOUSTON (Dec. 16, 2025)Children’s Museum Houston announced today that it was named a “Memorable Attraction” winner in Good Housekeeping’s 2026 Travel Awards. The full list of awards can be found on goodhousekeeping.com/travel2026.

Children’s Museum Houston was recognized for its immersive, hands-on learning experiences that transform play into powerful moments of discovery. As one of the most visited children’s museums in the country, the Museum offers a dynamic environment where children can explore science, technology, culture, health, and civics through interactive exhibits designed to spark curiosity and build real-world skills. Signature experiences like Kidtropolis, USA, empower young visitors to role-play adult responsibilities, make choices, and better understand how communities function.  It's learning through doing every step of the way.

“We really enjoyed Kidtropolis,USA. Little visitors get to ‘work’ at realistic places like a grocery store, a restaurant, and a news station," said the Good Housekeeping tester. “They can also collect a paycheck and deposit to or withdraw from an ATM. It’s very well done and lifelike. I saw my 5-year-old really understand and learn at the Museum.”

To find the best destinations, Good Housekeeping enlisted the help of more than 125 travel testers — including GH staff, travel industry experts and trained consumer evaluators — to assess hundreds of travel experiences and services across five continents. Each tester completed a detailed survey and shared photos and videos from their trip. When evaluating hotels and resorts, testers rated everything from service, value and food to entertainment, room design and overall vibe. Destination evaluations also considered the appeal of attractions, accessibility, lodging variety and safety.

In the Good Housekeeping Institute’s Labs, engineers, scientists and product analysts rigorously tested travel gear and accessories to evaluate performance, durability and ease of use. They considered factors such as innovation, value and convenience, while116 consumer testers put products to the ultimate test during real-world travel by car, bus, train and plane — both domestically and abroad. From beach getaways and city explorations to camping adventures and beyond, testers’ experiences helped identify the most reliable, functional and stylish items.
