Making Art with Friendly Robots

Robots for everyone! At the ExxonMobil MindFest event on August 2nd, volunteers helped visitors make “Scribble Bots.” Children turned takeout containers into little robots by adding offset motors and googly eyes. These creations didn’t have wheels—instead, markers were added for legs so that the robots created designs as they moved. On the following Thursday, Museum educators brought back the Scribble Bots activity for Free Family Night visitors. Best of all, everyone got to take their robots home with them.

All year long, ExxonMobil is sponsoring innovative STEM activities such as Scribble Bots, with the most popular ones to be featured in an ExxonMobil MindFest Showcase this December.
