Fun, philanthropy, and fashion—CMH’s Friends and Families Luncheon on March 6th had it all. Chairs Devorah Krieger and Ashley Sloan welcomed 275 guests to a stunningly springtime affair that raised $177,000 for the Museum's programs. The Ballroom at the River Oaks Country Club was transformed with blooms from the beautiful floral dresses worn by attendees and flowers donated by Central Market.

Following introductions by KHOU Meteorologist Chita Craft, came the highlight of the event, keynote speaker Dr. Amy Shah. Bringing her extensive background in medicine—as well as her experiences as a mother—Dr. Shah shared energy-boosting tips for busy parents.

Guests went home with cookie favors donated by Village Bakery, and a few lucky attendees won raffle prizes, including a spot on a 2026 Houston Rodeo Parade float. But the real winners were the children of Houston, who will benefit from event proceeds supporting outreach programming at 340+ locations.

Special thanks to Patrons Kathryn Boeker, Lane and Jeb Bowden; Devorah Krieger; and Ashley and Jonathan Sloan; and to Friends Veronika Adler; Caroline Bean, Jennifer Bilger, Lacey Goossen, Cara Moran and Courtney Solleveld; Cassandra and Ryan Dalton; Sarah Ebrahimi; Michael Mahlstedt; Memorial Hermann; Rishma Mohamed; Maya Pomroy; Kathryn Rabinow; and Bobbi Samuels.
