Day of Wonder is a Celebration of Community

July 8, 2026

Welcoming First-Time Museum Visitors

Recently, CMH held a Day of Wonder event that provided busing, meals, free admission, and translators for families who needed extra support to visit the Museum. This event brought together 30+ community partners, including nonprofits that encouraged their families to experience the Museum for the very first time.

Not only did families explore all of the Museum’s exhibits, they also learned about community resources to help their children thrive. Highlights of the day included free developmental screenings by DePelchin Children's Center, lunches provided by Kids' Meals, and information on preschool enrollment presented by Houston ISD and Aldine ISD.

Thank you to the many organizations that made this day a success, and to the sponsors of exhibits that are pictured above, including How Does It Work?, sponsored by INVISTA,  and Kidtropolis, which is underwritten by Bank of America, with additional support provided by H-E-B, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Niko Niko’s, and Reliant, an NRG Company.
