What do people value most? According to a recent Pew Research Center survey, 73% of Americans say that spending time with family is one of the most important things in life.
CMH is the ultimate destination for family togetherness, especially during the holidays. More than 3,000 visitors took part in its New Year's Noon celebration sponsored by CenterPoint Energy. This kid-friendly event featured live performances, free giveaways, and a ball drop at noon. For many visitors, the most memorable parts of the celebration were the activities that they did together as a family, including making New Year's glasses in the Chevron Maker Annex.

"A family told me they made the glasses last year and it was their favorite craft of the day," said the Museum's STEM Programs Specialist Christi Chapman. "They were excited to see we added LEDs to the design this year because their youngest has been asking how LEDs work. Our updated glasses took the activity to the next level for returning visitors who make our New Year's Noon an annual family tradition."
