A recent survey by OnePoll found that more than half of Americans said that reading their favorite childhood books transports them back to their early years, and half of respondents could still recite lines from children’s books, word for word.
CMH and Houston Pi Beta Phi Foundation have teamed up to make sure every child has a favorite book. At a recent Free Family Night, Houston Pi Beta Phi volunteers hosted a book giveaway where children selected their own book to keep. In addition, every Thursday evening the Museum presents three Houston Pi Beta Phi Storytimes that conclude with a free book for every child.
