A Texas-Sized Halloween Celebration

November 16, 2025

Halloween Programming Sponsored by INVISTA, CenterPoint Energy, and BASF

Throughout October, CMH was transformed into the BOOseum—one of Houston's largest Halloween events. The entire Museum was taken over by Halloween-themed science experiments, costumed characters, and fun photo-ops. But just how big was it? Here's a breakdown, by the numbers:

  • 52,000 visitors experienced the Museum in October.
  • 9,000 of these visitors received free admission on Free Family Nights.
  • 6,000 containers of slime were concocted by little ghosts and goblins at the BASF Power Science Lab.
  • 40+ Halloween-themed workshops were presented, such as making light-up monsters during Monster Mayhem sponsored by CenterPoint Energy.
  • 190 volunteers assembled 10,000 treat bags, handed out candy, and led visitors in science projects. Volunteer groups included ExxonMobil, Chevron, University of Houston College of Pharmacy, and Girl Scout Troop #4343.
  • 226 hours of creepy science experiments were presented at the Science Station, sponsored by INVISTA.

If you missed out on the BOOseum, there's more holiday excitement coming soon. Next week is the Great Gobbler Fest, and in December is the Polar Palooza. Read more about the upcoming Great Gobbler Fest, sponsored by H-E-B.
