The Museum is a summer reading destination. From June through August, families checked out 6,400 books in CMH's Parent Resource Library. Children also received an additional 450 free books to keep as part of Houston Pi Beta Phi Storytimes on Free Family Nights. All summer long, children signed up for the Houston Public Library's summer reading program, with two lucky readers receiving free bikes (one of which is shown at right.)
School may be back in session, but the reading continues. The Museum is presenting its Read Strong All Year Long programming throughout the year, sponsored by Phillips 66. On the upcoming Free Family Night on September 24th, children will receive free books from Phillips 66 volunteers as part of a National Literacy Month celebration.
