Background
Chemiluminescence is the production of light from a chemical reaction. This means 2 different chemicals react together to form an excited “high energy” intermediate, which breaks down and releases some of its energy in the form of light.
Materials
- 1 glow bracelet and connector
Procedure
- Study the diagram of the parts of the glow bracelet.
- Take 1 bracelet from the bin. Bend it in the middle until you hear the insdie vial crack.
- Shake the bracelet to facilitate the chemical reaction.
