These bilingual (English-Spanish) workshop are designed to engage young learners in the joy of reading and writing through hands-on activities, stories, and interactive exercises. Each session is filled with creative activities like Storytime, letter games, and arts and crafts, all aimed at fostering a love for language and developing essential pre-reading and writing skills in a fun, nurturing environment.

Session 1: Building Your Child’s Vocabulary  
Build word knowledge by using sophisticated words and defining words in ways children can understand. Using child-friendly definitions or providing simple words to understand unfamiliar words helps a child understand the meaning of new words to build vocabulary.

Activities:

   1. Candy Lane: Learn new words as you play Candy Lane.

    2. Amazing Word Bingo: Enjoy Bingo while learning new words.

    3. Leaning Tower: Play Jenga while learning new words.

Session 2: Writing Together  
Create fun non-stop writing experiences. Children can write during play and daily routines to develop important knowledge and skills they will need to be good writers. This workshop will encourage parents to use a variety of playful strategies to help their child develop writing skills and highlight the importance of those strategies.

Activities:

  1. Greeting Card: Create a greeting card for someone special.

   2. Sensory Writing: Write together using different materials.

   3. Investigating Writing: Explore writing materials and create together.
