JUNE 2025

Playful Polymers: Slippery, ooey and gooey... Oh My! Explore how polymers behave using some common household ingredients. Your slimy creation is yours to keep!

When: June 6 from 11 am to noon & 1:30 to 2:30 pm

Crazy Chromatography: In this colorful chemistry lab, kids will explore the science of chromatography by separating the hidden pigments in candy coatings and marker ink. Using simple materials like water and filter strips, students become color detectives as they reveal the components of familiar colors. It's a fun and hands-on way to learn about mixtures and how scientists separate them!

When: June 13 from 11 am to noon & 1:30 to 2:30 pm

Discovering D.N.A.: What are the building blocks of life? Put on your gloves and goggles to get the answer to this question. You will be rewarded with a firsthand look at an amazing chemical that makes all life possible.

When: June 20 from 11 am to noon & 1:30 to 2:30 pm

Sink or Float: Explore the physical properties of matter through a hands-on investigation of several liquids and solids! Create your own personal density column to take home!

When: June 27 from 11 am to noon & 1:30 to 2:30 pm

JULY 2025

Ghostly Glow: Spread some light in this investigation by creating luminescent paint. Take your sample home and let it glow, let it glow!

When: July 4

Water Loves Chemistry: Operation Filtration: Learn about the process of creating clean water by doing it yourself. Create a sample of dirty water and then try out some interesting processes to clean it up.

When: July 11

What’s That Reaction?: What is that reaction? Investigate physical and chemical changes by exploring various indicators of a chemical reaction.

When: July 18 from 11 am to noon & 1:30 to 2:30 pm

The Great Chemistry Caper: It’s a regular whodunit! Join our team of detectives as we solve a mystery and learn more about the practical applications of chemistry and chromatography in forensic science.
