Join Children’s Museum Houston as it commemorates the contributions of the Hispanic community with interactive activities, presentations, and live performances during its National Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. The event will kick off a series of spotlight performances during Free Family Night Thursdays, and Saturday story times with community leaders who will read books by Latino authors through Oct.15.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Latin Rhythms: Learn the origins of the “Tumbadora,” better known as the conga drum.
Event Time: At 11 a.m. in Kid’s Hall Alcove.
Hispanic Heritage Hero Award: Latino icon Dr. Dorothy Caram will receive the Museum’s highest honor.
Event Time: Ceremony at noon in Kid’s Hall Alcove.
Danza Azteca Splendor: Experience the world of ancient Mexico through traditional Aztec dancing.
Event Time: 1 p.m. in Kid’s Hall Alcove.
Bilingual Story Time: Join Univision 45 for charming children’s stories written by Latino authors.
