VOLUNTEER AT A PLAYGROUND FOR YOUR MIND!TM
Children's Museum of Houston offers many volunteer opportunities for teens, adults and groups. During your volunteer experience, you have the chance to interact with visitors, assist staff in the action-packed exhibits or help our hard-working Administrative staff.
Discovery Squad Program
The Discovery Squad, our teen volunteer program, are required to be 14 years of age prior to beginning the program and no older than 17 years old. Discovery Squad members are asked to complete a minimum of 75 hours of volunteer service to the Museum during the summer months or throughout the school year.
Adult Volunteer Program

The Adult Program is for volunteers 18 years and older. Volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service to the Museum per year. Some activities include volunteering at the Information Booth, for Special Events and Museum Outreach!
September 15th Museum District Day
The Group Program is for community groups (ie youth clubs, scout troops, etc) that want to volunteer their time for half a day, one full day, or for a short term projects. All group members must be at least 14 years old. Your group or organization can enjoy a fun-filled day at the Museum and earn volunteer hours!
The Corporate Program is for corporate and business groups who wish to compliment their contribution to the community through volunteer service.
Comprised of 25 children, aged eight to twelve, the Kids’ Committee is dedicated to helping the Museum be a better place for children. They provide a kid’s perspective for the museum on everything from exhibit development to programming.
