We’ll sneak the sunrise past a rooster! The Children’s Museum of Houston will put all of its eggs in one basket for this year’s Lunar New Year Bash celebrating the Year of the Rooster. Become immersed in Houston’s diverse Asian heritage with activities and performances. Lunar New Year falls on Jan. 28. The event is free with general admission.

Chinese Lantern: Welcome the New Year by decorating a lantern in Kids’ Hall.
Origami: Learn about the art of paper folding and create a masterpiece in Kids’ Hall.
Calligraphy Scrolls: Design a work of art and display it in the style of ancient Chinese hanging scrolls at Alexander Art Academy.
Lunar Viewfinder: Howl at the moon when you create your own moon viewfinder at EcoStation.
Wolf Survival: Find out how outside influences affect a wolf pack during a game of survival at EcoStation.
Dragon Fire Lanterns: Light up your Lunar New Year with a fire lantern at Junktion.
Chinese Character Banner: Celebrate the year of the Rooster when you create your own lucky Chinese Character Banner at Junktion.
Dragon Puppets: Create a fiery dragon puppet at Junktion.
