2012 Summer of Fun

We're vowing to wow during the Museum's 2012 Summer of Fun!  From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, CMH will open its doors 7 days a week to uphold YOUR right to fun.  A dedicated daily itinerary, along with weekly themes, special guests and live performances combined with exhilarating exhibits and tantalizing activities await you this summer at “America’s No. 1 children’s museum” (Source:  Parents magazine).  

A KID’S RIGHT TO FUN
CMH makes a sincere plea to parents to make their children's fun possible no matter the hurdles.  It is a human need and a human right for their children to have fun.  And since summer doesn’t last forever and kids grow up so fast, they have got to make this one count!  This is their time!  Pack an entire summer of fun at CMH without breaking the bank.

MindFest™
August 2 – 8 
Put your mind to the Fest!  Challenge your mind as we celebrate how art, science and technology can combine to spark the most ingenious ideas!  MindFest™ is a national festival created by the masterminds at MIT Media Laboratory to celebrate creativity and explore ways in which new technologies transform how we think and learn.  Invent colors, design flying machines, engineer marble roller coaster and more!

DIY WonderWeek
August 9 - 15
The maker attitude is the inherent need to create your own projects based on personal desires. Instead of spending money on something already made, a maker creates something new or modifies something existing that meets their needs. You’re invited to problem solve your way through projects and learn new skills by taking apart electronic devices to invent with the pieces, making from scratch flip book stories and more!
