About the Program

Invite Children’s Museum Houston’s team to bring an energizing, hands-on family learning event to your school! If you need a large, family-fun event, the Museum has a variety of programs that are perfect for your next school event.

Family Learning Events are held on school campuses during the school year (August - June) and are designed to engage the whole family in activities that support what children are learning in school. The events are bilingual (English/Spanish), feature 10 to 12 different activities, and only require common household items.

Family Learning Event Details

Family learning events are 1 ½ hours long and are held inside the school. All books used at events can be found in the collections of the Houston Public Library. Parents and children engage together in hands-on activities that focus on one of the themes below.

  • Raise a Reader I
  • Raise a Reader II
  • Magnificent Math Moments
  • STEM Stars
  • Fun Shop
  • Wild about Nature
  • Matter Factory
  • Seasons of Sharing
  • STEM for Middle School
