The Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH) wants you burned out of fun, not sunburned this summer!  That’s why we’re kicking off Memorial Day weekend celebrating “Don’t Fry Day” on Fry-day, May 27.  “Don’t Fry Day” is an actual national holiday that creates awareness about the dangers of the sun, such as skin cancer.  We will have several interactive activities so you can learn how to prevent getting scorched in the outdoors!
 
PREVENTING OUR SERVICE MEMBERS FROM FRYING
In celebration of “Don’t Fry Day,” we are also asking visitors to bring any new chapstick or travel-size sunblock to receive a $2 off admission discount, May 27 – 30.   We have partnered with the Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County to take these items to our troops so they don’t fry either!  That’s hot!

• UV Bead Bracelets:  Make your very own UV bead bracelet to take home.  It changes color in the sun and alerts you when UV rays are present.
• Thank You Letters for Troops: Say "Thank You" to our Troops by making your own hand-made card just for them!
• Patriotic Sunglasses: Show off your pride by making red, white and blue sunglasses to wear all summer long.
• Patriotic Pinwheels: Create your own star spangled pinwheel to play with in the summer breeze.
