Have you ever wanted to climb up walls and hang from the ceiling like Spiderman? This could be possible sooner than you may think! Scientists are developing a new, super-strong adhesive, inspired by lizards’ feet! Welcome to The Matter Factory where the Fact of the Matter is “Matter Matters!” Step into a whimsical factory from the future in The Matter Factory exhibit. Visitors will develop the understanding that everything is made up of material or matter. They will learn that molecules and atoms are the building blocks of matter as they investigate materials and solve factory problems.
In The Matter Factory, visitors can test the invisible properties of matter discovering the density, viscosity and elasticity of different materials. They also will interact with what scientists call “smart” materials, materials that have properties that can be dramatically changed.
