Dear CMH Members:

The Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH) needs your help as we work to incorporate new learning tools into our exhibits.
We need 36 individual families to assist us as we begin preliminary tests of iPad use in exhibits. Next week (July 6-9), researchers from the University of Houston College of Education will be observing families as they interact with 10 specified Museum exhibit activities. During the observation, each family will use a CMH iPad and our recommended apps to extend their experience at the activities. Your feedback following these observation sessions will be instrumental as we continue to develop these tools.
We are recruiting families (parents and children) for this study who are interested and can answer “yes” to all four of the following questions:
-
Do you have children within the 6-12 year old age range?
-
Are you and your children familiar with mobile devices that use touch screen apps (like iPhone, iPod Touch, Android)?
-
Does your family speak English fluently?
-
Could your family attend one of the following 1.5 hour observation/interview sessions?
Wednesday, July 7 (10 a.m., 1 p.m., or 3 p.m.)
Thursday, July 8 (10 a.m., 1 p.m., or 3 p.m.)
Friday, July 9 (10 a.m., 1 p.m., or 3 p.m.)
Please contact Education Director Cheryl McCallum if you are interested in helping us. If you have friends who are not members who would also like to participate and meet the requirements above, please feel free to forward this.
