Join Cindy-Lou Who, the lovable dog Max and the “Mean One” himself, The Grinch, at The Grinch’s Holiday Workshop, a new interactive experience opening at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Inspired by Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and developed by the Children’s Museum of Manhattan with the permission of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, The Grinch’s Holiday Workshop opens Nov. 22, 2014 and runs through Jan. 4, 2015.
To step into The Grinch’s Holiday Workshop is to walk into the pages of Dr. Seuss’ classic holiday tale. Gallery walls wrapped in scenes from Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! pop with Who-holiday spirit. See Cindy-Lou Who at the Who-ville holiday feast, where the transformed Grinch carves the “roast beast.” At the center of it all is old “Grinch Claus” and his oversized, interactive sleigh tethered to his unwitting “Rein-Dog,” Max. Hop in and steer Max all the way to Who-ville! Activity areas buzz with laughter and creative energy as you take part in Grinch-related holiday programming.
The Grinch’s Holiday Workshop will host daily and weekly programming, including:
Looking for clues in The Workshop to answer scavenger hunt questions
Diving into fun, two-sided Grinch masks
Getting the Grinch stuck down a chimney with the “Grinch in a Pinch” tree ornaments
Creating your own Who-ville character to add to a community mural and inviting everyone out for a Who-Ville feast
Creating Grinch finger puppets to convey this holiday classic in a puppet theatre
Gathering around for storytelling with the Children’s Museum of Houston staff who will read How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
