Come out and explore what may lie in your professional future! You’re invited to participate in our Help Wanted career event in light of Labor Day. This is a great opportunity for you to be exposed to career paths at many areas of the Museum and at the Kidtropolis exhibit—a city for kids, run by kids! We are also honoring City employees by offering a $2 admission discount with valid City ID (per person, per visit) on Labor Day, Sept. 5.
ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:
• Career Match: Match the uniforms that describe each job. Check it out at Junktion.
• Labor Day Collage: What do you want to be when you grow up? Make an occupation collage of your dreams and aspirations at Junktion.
• Good Work: Every job is important no matter how big or small. Make a special sign to let a community worker know how much you appreciate his work at Junktion.
• Smart Snacks: Have you ever wanted to be a chef? Be one at Power Science Lab.
• Vitamin Function: Pretend to be a doctor and prescribe the right vitamins and nutrients to your patients in Power Science Lab.
• Maximum Building: Play engineer and build with Lego® like never before.
Event Date: Sept. 1 – 5 all day at Inventors’ Workshop.
• The Strange Science of Static Electricity: Play electrical engineer and learn about this strange phenomenon which makes your hair stand up straight, tinsel fly in the air and lightning follow your finger.
Event Date: Sept. 1 – 4 all day at Science Station.
• Something Is Different About You: Use career props to trick your opponent as you change one thing about yourself.
Event Date: All week from 2 to 6 p.m. at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
• What Shall I Wear Today? Dress to impress. How many work outfits can be made with a few tops, bottoms, and shoes?
