It’s your right to summer fun! Summertime is coming to a close, but it’s not over yet. Come to the Children’s Museum of Houston and squeeze out of summer every last bit of fun while getting ready for school. Grab your notepad, sharpen your pencils, and take notes as we celebrate your right to wish it was always summer with our That’s a Wrap bash. Have a blast while enjoying awesome, challenging activities designed to polish and refine your skills before your first day back. So hop out of the pool and get ready for school at the Museum.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
• Discovery Guide Dance Party: Summer’s over and we feel your pain. Let it out with dance therapy.
Event time: Every day from 2 to 2:30 p.m. in the Alcove.
• Karaoke: No time to sing the summer blues. More time to hit the right notes.
Event Time: Every day from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium.
ON GOING ACTIVITIES:
• Survive the Fall: You survived the summer madness! Now see if you can engineer a package system that will survive a 14-foot drop at the Inventors’ Workshop.
• Back to School Photo Frame: On your first day of school you will look picture perfect! Make a frame that will match your back to school swag at Junktion.
• School Calendar: Can’t wait till school is over already? Swing by Junktion to make a calendar that will help you count down the days to next summer.
• School Bus Hat: “Head” back to school in style by designing your own unique hat that will be the envy of all your friends at Junktion.
• Boats Afloat: Sharpen your critical thinking skills and construct a boat that will carry a load of steel washers using just ONE sheet of aluminum foil at Science Station.
• Wheel of Fitness: Get fit this school year with this creative exercise wheel that you can take home from the Power Science Lab.
• Counting Craze: Brush up on your math skills at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
• Box It Up: It’s time for summer cleaning! Stop by the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
