Children's Museum of Houston instills the maker attitude by celebrating your right to do things yourself 
August 9 – 15 

Life is a do-it-yourself project.  Get started as we celebrate your right to do it yourself at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Take the challenge of hands-on projects and activities YOU complete step by step.  Creativity, ingenuity, and inventiveness is a must as you also explore the Instructables®:  Made in Your Mind exhibit.  Remember, when you want something done right, Do-it-Yourself!  It’s your right to summer fun! 

SPECIAL EVENTS:
• Duct Tape Accessories/Project Fashionista:  Rock the “catwalk” as you channel today’s top fashion designers by creating posh designs and accessories.
Event Time: Every day from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Alcove.

ON GOING ACTIVITIES:
• ElectroMechanical Folk Art:  Get your hands dirty as you disassemble old electronic devices and appliances to reconstruct them into magnificent art work at Invention Convention.
• Flying disk:  Design a disk that soars through the air like a flying saucer at Junktion.
• Flip book stories: Swing by Junktion to explore animation and develop your own unique animated story to take home.
• Domino Runs:  If one falls they all fall!  Complete each challenge with your strategic domino run designs at Junktion.
• Easel Painting: Unleash your inner artist! Stop by the Alexander Art Academy to create art pieces just like the pros. 
• Duct Tape Rulers: It’s DIY Math.  Make a 6-feet ruler you can take anywhere at the ExxonMobil Math Cart. It will come in handy!
• Caterpillar Patterns:  Success with color patterns leads to improved math skills.  Design your own fun caterpillar pattern hat at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
