Children's Museum of Houston celebrates your right to daydream by fusing art, science and technology in MIT-inspired kid festival

It’s your right to summer fun! Let your mind come out and play at our annual MindFest™ celebration! Put your mind to the Fest and learn how combining art, science and technology can spark some of the most ingenious ideas. The Children's Museum of Houston celebrates your right to daydream and welcomes the wild imaginations of young inventors for mind-blowing activities which will ignite inventive spirits. This national festival was created by the masterminds at MIT Media Laboratory to celebrate creativity and explore ways in which new technologies transform how we think and learn.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
• DG Dance Party: What’s a festival without dance? Give your mind a rest as you rock out with our Discovery Guides.
Event Date: Every day at 2:30 p.m. in the Alcove.
ON GOING ACTIVITIES:
• Invent a Color: If you had an opportunity to design a new color, what would it be? Swing by the Alexander Art Academy to make your very own and give it a name.
• Marble Run Roller Coasters: Make your own roller coaster model complete with curves, loops, bumps and jumps at the Inventors’ Workshop.
• The Sky’s the Limit: Swing by Science Station to engineer flight machines that soar through the air!
• Paper Copter: Combine innovation and creativity to make this copter fly at Junktion.
• Spirograph: Use gears to make art with intricate patterns at Junktion.
• Shape Building: Make ordinary shapes into unique masterpieces at Junktion.
• Stacking Cups: Challenge your friends to build the tallest structure possible at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
• Skyscraper Challenge: Build skyscrapers without repeating shapes at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
