Spy Week

SpyKids_web.jpg
CELEBRATE YOUR RIGHT TO IMAGINE “WHAT IF?” DURING 2012 SUMMER OF FUN
JULY 19 – 25

Have you ever wanted to crack codes, take on different identities, and complete top secret missions?  Well here’s your chance! Your summer mission (should you decide to accept it) is to embark upon a top-secret Museum adventure. Put your super-spy skills to the test as the Children's Museum of Houston 2012 Summer of Fun celebrates your right to imagine “what if?” during Spy Week.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

•Spy Emporium: Spies need top-notch gadgets to complete their missions.  Take a look and play with the toys professionals use to keep an eye on things.
Event Date:  Saturday, July 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in New Kid’s Hall.
         Sunday, July 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. in New Kid’s Hall.

ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:

•Black Light Hieroglyphs: Stop by the Alexander Art Academy to reveal hidden secret messages using black light technology.

•Robotic Designs: What’s a super-agent without super technology?  Program Bee Bots at your command at the Inventors’ Workshop.

•What Shall I Wear Today?: Being a spy requires some top-secret undercover work.  How many creative undercover outfit combinations can you make using a certain number of clothes?  Check it out at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.

•I Spy Something Different: A spy must pay close attention to detail.  See if you have what it takes to spot the difference between two similar pictures at Junktion.

•Cipher Wheel: Encrypt your messages to keep them covert at Junktion.

•Fingerprint Personality: Don’t get caught red-handed!  Everyone’s fingerprints are unique.  See what your fingertips say about you at Junktion.

•Speed Challenge: A spy must be quick at all times. Test your speed at this 30 second game show challenge in the Brown Auditorium.

•Decoder Rings: Crack the code using a simple device in the Alcove.
