For 42 years, Earth Day has inspired awareness and appreciation for the planet we call home. Spring into action at the Museum and celebrate the wonders of the world during Earth Week, April 19 – 25. Preserve Earth while having tons of fun at our big Earth Day Extravaganza, April 22 and find out how YOU can make a big difference!
SPECIAL EVENTS:
• Earth Day Extravaganza: Swing by the museum and party the day away, eco-friendly style! Explore the world around you with the EPA, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Trees for Houston and more!
Event time: Sunday, April 22, All Day.
• Story Time Featuring Linda Befeld: Listen as our special guest enlightens and engages you with Texas twist tall tales!
Event time: Thursday, April 19, 6:30p.m.; Saturday, April 21, 2 p.m. Brown Auditorium.
• Earth Day Extravaganza: Swing by the museum and party the day away, eco-friendly style! Explore the world around you with the EPA, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Trees for Houston and more!

ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:
• Reused Magazine Necklace: Recycle, reuse, and reach the pinnacle of fashion when you turn old magazine into stylish necklaces at EcoStation.
• Rainy Day Reflections: Take a moment and admire the reflection that a rainy-day puddle can create at the Alexander Art Academy.
• Go Green Game: Play a game of chutes and ladders with trash true or false cards to learn more about reducing, reusing and recycling at EcoStation.
• Bird Designs: Create your own bird puppet and learn how each winged creature adapts to their environment at Junktion.
• Good Catch: Catch a fish and measure the length to see if you’ve got a “keeper” or have to toss it back at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
• Wildlife Symbols: Stop by Junktion and create a Texas-shaped guide to our state’s wildlife symbols like the mockingbird and armadillo.
• Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Discover ways to keep earth clean at EcoStation.
• 3D Earth: In honor of Earth Day make a 3D Earth souvenir at Junktion and take home to teach your friends about the importance of taking care of our planet!
• Jump like a Frog: Jump just like a frog and use a variety of jumping styles to see just how far you can travel at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
