HOUSTON (June 24, 2010) – We’re celebrating three decades of innovative, child-centered learning! You’re invited to have a ball as we turn thirty, flirty and thriving during The Birthday Ball at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 16 at the Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH).
Mother-daughter co-chair team Kathryn Rabinow and Sarah Rabinow Pesikoff lead the milestone celebration with the hope of raising more than $800,000 for CMH’s fun, educational programs. Over 600 of the most generous supporters will nosh on a birthday feast by Jackson & Company among festive decor by Bergner & Johnson, dance the night away to music by Commercial Art, and bid on exclusive Big Board and Silent Auction packages, including travel with the official CMH airline, Continental Airlines, one-of-a-kind art, exquisite restaurant experiences and more during the auction chaired by Anne Graubart and Stacy Lewis Graubart.
Tables of 10 are available at $10,000, $15,000, $20,000, and a special $30,000 level as we light up 30 candles this year. $5000 tables have sold out! Individual tickets may be purchased at $1,500 and a limited number at $3,000.
Your donation assists us in our mission to transform communities through educational exhibits and programs and through our outreach to underserved families. For more information, table reservations or tickets, contact CMH’s development department at (713) 535-7250 or lgoodrum@cmhouston.org.
ABOUT TURNING 30 Founded in 1980, the Children’s Museum of Houston has come a long way to what it is now—90,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, exhilarating activities, hands-on workshops, and mesmerizing performances! From our modest beginning on Allen Parkway to our current Houston Museum District location, we continue to succeed in raising funds to provide families with the opportunity to experience A Playground for Your Mind™. The first pilot exhibit, Kidtechnics, was presented in 1984 at the Blaffer Gallery on the campus of the University of Houston. Today, a year and a half after our expansion grand opening, 14-galleries, 12 state-of-the-art exhibits, auditorium, library, café and Institute for Family Learning, we continue to touch the lives of more than 900,000 children, parents, and caregivers annually, continually serving the diverse needs of Houston-area families. Our philosophy, established by a founding group of parents, is to first and foremost acknowledge and support the educational and developmental needs of children. Can your mind come out to play?
