New Year's Noon Bash
Wednesday 31-Dec-08 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST
Details for "New Year's Noon Bash"
New Year’s Noon is the city’s longest-running New Year’s celebration just for kids!
This
end-of-year bash rings the New Year at the stroke of noon with the drop of a vibrant ball, just like they do in Times Square! But kids won’t have to stay up late!
We’ll pay tribute to the upcoming
Where the Wild Things Are movie complete with our own “Wild Thing” character and a ferocious growl at the end of our New Year’s Noon parade and countdown. Come design your own untamed float and strut it on stage. Celebrate with noisemakers and bedazzling pretend firework sparklers. Plus,
jam to the pulsating sounds of a brass band!
New Year’s Day Float Making & Parade: Create a personal New Year’s Day float and be part of our exciting parade and showcase!
Fireworks Sparklers: Shimmer and shine as you light up the celebration with your own handmade sparkly fireworks.
Paper Plate Tambourines: Make sure everyone can hear you ringing in the New Year by making a thunderous shaker.
Brilliant Ball Drop: Watch as we celebrate the beginning of a new year just like they do on TV!
Wild Thing Special Character Appearance: Come meet this delightful character from Maurice Sendak’s
Where the Wild Things Are book and go wild celebrating the New Year!
Voodoo Brass Band: Dance to the jazzy tunes of our amazing brass band and celebrate the New Year in style!
Countdown to NOON begins at 11:45 a.m.
