Learn the four types of processes used in manufacturing in How People Make Things. Inspired by the manufacturing segments in the Mister Rogers’ TV show, this exciting exhibit takes you through the making of plastic objects, crayons, stop lights, toys and even tennis shoes. 

ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:

• Molding Moon Sand:  Come experience the molding process for yourself and see sand take any shape you want it to.  
• Cut It Out: Learn about the process factories use to cut out the shape of a material they need.  
• Put It Together: Assemble a toy and find out what the process for this step in manufacturing is.
• How People Make Things: Engineering 101. Discover the basics of engineering by making a watercraft or a ping pong zip line.
• Inventions Inspired by Nature: Did you know a plant was the inspiration behind Velcro? Come find out how many other modern day inventions originated from nature.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

• Mold Handmade Paper: Make your own batch of paper from T.P., then color or shape it anyway you want.
