Escaping the Houston heat can be “ruff” but furry, four-legged pals await you at the air-conditioned Children’s Museum of Houston 2012 Summer of Fun!  Exercise your right to reach for the stars as talented pooches unleash a tail-wagging sneak peek at the World Series of Dog Shows.  Sniff our discount and save $1 in admission when you bring dog or cat food to be donated to a local animal shelter.  The World Series of Dog Shows is July 18 – 22 at Reliant Park. The first 50 children to visit the Museum on July 5 – 8 will receive free Dog Show tickets.  Have a howling good time! 

SPECIAL EVENTS:

•World Series of Dog Shows Musical Freestyle: Put your paws up as dancing dogs show off their moves. 
Event Date:  Thursday, July 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. during Free Family Night in the Brown Auditorium.                   
•Poo Toss Game:  HGAC will show you how to properly toss away your pet’s poo. 
Event Date:  Thursday, July 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. during Free Family Night and Sunday, July 8, all day.
•Banfield FutureVet® Clinic:  What does it en-“tail” to be a responsible pet owner?  Get up close and personal with friendly canines and earn a treat at the end of the presentation. 
Event Date:  Sunday, July 8 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium
•World Series of Dog Shows Frisbee Demo:  There’s nothing like a good ole game of Frisbee, no paws necessary!  Watch as dogs soar through the air and bite into fun. 
Event Date:  Sunday, July 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium.

ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:

•Animal Tracks: Explore footprints left by different animals at the Alexander Art Academy.
•Sun Catcher:  Capture the hottest-and sunniest times of the year at Junktion.
•Canis Major:  Discover which constellation resembles a dog at Junktion.
•Accordion Dog:  Create your very own pooch pal at Junktion.
