Children's Museum of Houston celebrates children and bilingual literacy during 11th annual Day of the Child

You're invited to the Museum's 11th annual Day of the Child Celebration. The event will focus on enriching your life with the value of bilingual literacy. The Museum’s Para los niños program helps Spanish-speaking parents get involved in their children’s education by offering bilingual books and educational resources free of charge.
"Children's Day" is celebrated on various days in many places around the world to honor kids. In Mexico, it is celebrated on April 30 and it is known as "El día del niño".

Mariachi Hermosura Juvenil: Enjoy the lively sounds of Mexico’s traditional music.

Storybook Opera: Get introduced to the world of storytelling through song.
Event Time: 2, 3 & 4 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium
- Bilingual Story Time in the Parent Resource Library: Take home a book with you! Stories will highlight Latino authors, storytellers and poets.
Event Time: 1 & 3 p.m.
- Pocket Full of Letters: Make a construction paper pouch at Junktion.
Fill the pouch with letter cut outs. Take your pocket full of letters with you. During your visit, pull out a letter and see if you can spy something that begins with that letter.
- Rhyme Match Up: Match up the cards into pairs that rhyme at Junktion.
- Sticker Stories: Use brightly colored stickers to tell a story without words at Junktion.
