Adventures After School

Any children's group can reserve a FREE hour of after school programming at CMH. The group receives a personalized tour of one exhibit with a Discovery Guide. Then the Discovery Guide leads an exhibit-related activity with the children reinforcing the concepts introduced in the exhibit tour. Adventures After School - Staff Training
Open Doors agencies with after school programs can receive FREE training in the areas of Physical Science, Environmental Science, Math, Arts and Literacy. The trainings can occur at CMH or at the site requesting the training. Sessions typically run an hour and certificates are available.
ExxonMobil Magnificent Math Moments
Sponsored by
CMH partners with 11 after school sites in Houston in this math-based academic enrichment program. This program seeks to increase the mathematical competency level of children by providing them with increased access to math-based informal learning activities. Programming features the provision of on-going training and materials to the staff of after-school centers and schools so that they may facilitate our ExxonMobil Magnificent Math Moments activities. Involvement provides children with opportunities to gain an experiential understanding of mathematics and to discover that math can be fun and accessible.
